We are turning orange!

We are turning orange! Today we dived deep into our inquiry and discovered that the orange trees in our back yards are brimming with citrus fruit at the moment. But what to do with all of this fruit? We wanted to use all of the parts of the fruit so we don’t waste. 

So far we've made ‘Sparkly citrus cleaner’ using orange peels and white vinegar. Our classroom is not only going to be clean and refreshing, but we don’t have to spend money on supermarket cleaners anymore; we can easily reuse the peels to make our own!

We brushed our teeth using an orange peel, that was interesting... our breath did smell really nice and fruity.

Also, we freshened up our rubbish bin by simply putting in our left over orange peels.

Stay tuned for some more uses of the everyday orange. Tomorrow we are making orange juice ice blocks, peel art and doing some baking... mmm orange cake!
